Summary
Effective January 1, 2025, BCBSRI is no longer delegating infertility service authorization requests to WINFertility. All authorization requests for infertility services for fully insured BCBSRI members must now be submitted directly through the BCBSRI portal (MHK).
Action Required
Immediately: Stop submitting infertility service authorization requests to WINFertility for BCBSRI fully insured members. Update workflow to submit all authorization requests through the BCBSRI portal (MHK) instead. Train staff on new authorization submission process. Claims may be denied without proper authorization through the correct portal.
