BCBSRI has established dedicated urgent appointment time slots for behavioral health services (outpatient therapy and medication management) exclusively for their members. Members can access these appointments by calling providers directly or contacting BCBSRI Behavioral Health Case Management.

By March 1, 2025: Front desk staff should be aware that BCBSRI members may call requesting urgent behavioral health appointments through this new program. No billing changes required - this is an access improvement program that does not affect coding or reimbursement.
