Summary
CMS is reminding Medicare Advantage Organizations to work with contracted providers to review, update, and certify their information in the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). Providers must update inaccurate information including names, addresses, phone numbers, and specialties, ensure all active practice locations are included, and remove inactive locations.
Action Required
By July 1, 2025: Providers must review and update their NPPES profiles to ensure accuracy of practice information including provider name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and specialty. Add all addresses where you actively see patients and where patients can schedule appointments. Remove any practice locations no longer in use. After updating, providers must certify the information in NPPES to confirm accuracy.
