Summary
BCBSRI is reminding providers to review and update their information in the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) including provider names, addresses, phone numbers, and specialties. Providers must ensure all active practice locations are included and remove inactive locations, then certify the updated information.
Action Required
By January 1, 2026: All providers must log into NPPES to review and update their profile information including name, mailing address, telephone, fax numbers, and specialty. Add all addresses where you actively see patients and patients can make appointments. Remove any practice locations no longer in use. After updating, providers must certify the information is accurate in NPPES. This affects Medicare Advantage network directories but does not impact Medicare Fee-For-Service billing.
