Providers must update inaccurate information including names, addresses, phone numbers, and specialties, ensuring all active practice locations are listed while removing inactive ones.
Action Required
By April 1, 2026: Providers must log into NPPES to review and update all provider information including practice name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and specialty designations. Add all addresses where you actively see patients and where patients can call to make appointments. Remove any practice locations no longer in use. After updating information, certify accuracy in NPPES system. This only affects Medicare Advantage billing, not Medicare Fee-For-Service.
