Summary
Effective July 1, 2026, two new mRNA influenza vaccine CPT codes (90616 and 90639) have been added to immunization and preventive services payment policies for coverage. Additionally, 15 new T-codes have been added to the non-reimbursable services list and will not be covered for payment.
Action Required
By July 1, 2026: Billing team must update system to include new mRNA influenza vaccine codes 90616 and 90639 for covered immunization services. Update encounter forms to include these new vaccine options. Ensure billing system flags T-codes 1030T through 1049T as non-reimbursable to prevent claim submissions. Notify providers that the 15 listed T-codes will not be covered and should not be billed.
