Summary

Blue Cross of Idaho updated their Primary Care Provider (PCP) policy to clarify that telehealth-only providers cannot serve as PCPs. PCPs must now provide periodic in-person services in a clinical setting to be eligible for PCP designation.

By July 1, 2025: Provider Relations team must review current PCP designations and identify any telehealth-only providers incorrectly designated as PCPs. Remove telehealth-only providers from PCP eligibility lists and notify affected members they must select a new PCP who provides in-person services. Update provider enrollment forms to include verification of in-person service capability.
