Summary
Blue Cross of Idaho has revised its policy for external auditor appeals - providers must now submit all inquiries and appeals related to vendor audit determinations directly to the vendor, not to Blue Cross of Idaho. Any appeals submitted to BCID will be rejected and returned with instructions to resubmit to the vendor.
Action Required
Immediately: Update billing team procedures to submit all audit appeals and inquiries directly to the external vendor (not Blue Cross of Idaho). Train staff to use vendor contact information provided in determination letters and reference the Provider Vendors section in the secure Provider Portal. Do not send vendor audit appeals to BCID as they will be rejected and returned, causing delays in resolution.
