Summary
Beginning April 1st, 2021, all inpatient hospital prior authorizations and concurrent reviews for BCBSWY members must be submitted through the Availity portal instead of previous methods. BCBSWY is offering training sessions in February and March to help providers transition to this new system.
Action Required
Before April 1, 2021: All staff handling inpatient prior authorizations must transition to using the Availity portal for BCBSWY members. Register for training sessions (Feb 24 at 10am, March 16 at 2pm, or March 18 at 2pm) by contacting provider.relations@www.bcbswy.com. Update workflow procedures to route all BCBSWY inpatient prior auths through Availity portal. Failure to use new system may result in authorization delays or denials.
