Summary
Beginning September 1st, 2021, all prior authorizations for outpatient or professional services for BCBSWY members must be submitted through the Availity portal instead of previous methods. BCBSWY is offering training webinars to help providers transition to this new submission process.
Action Required
By September 1st, 2021: All staff handling prior authorizations must transition to submitting BCBSWY outpatient and professional service prior auths exclusively through the Availity portal. Register for the August 17th training webinar by logging into Availity Portal > Help & Training > Get Trained > Sessions tab > 'BCBSWY Outpatient Authorization Submissions and Follow-up'. Update workflow procedures to use Availity portal for all BCBSWY prior auth submissions.
