Summary
BCBSWY has updated billing requirements for three codes: E0118 crutch billing now requires monthly RR modifier for rentals or NU modifier for purchases, G0260 sacroiliac joint injections can no longer be billed in ASC settings, and intraocular lens services in ASCs must use L8699 with invoice instead of V-codes. Claims may be denied entirely for non-compliance.
Action Required
Immediately: Update billing system to bill E0118 monthly with RR modifier for rentals or NU modifier for purchases. Stop billing G0260 in ASC settings (place of service 24) - use standard CPT codes instead. For intraocular lens services in ASCs, replace V2630, V2631, V2632, V2787, and V2788 with L8699 plus invoice. Train billing team on these changes to avoid claim denials.
