BCBS Wyoming is experiencing a system issue where online prior authorizations show incorrect effective and expiration dates. Two new RSV CPT codes (96380 and 96381) are effective retroactively from 10/6/2023, but claims should be held until after 10/23/2023 when system programming is complete.

Immediately: For BCBS Wyoming claims, validate prior authorization periods using fax correspondence, mailed letters, or by calling Member Services instead of relying on online display dates. Hold all claims containing CPT codes 96380 or 96381 until on or after October 23, 2023 to avoid ECP errors and rejections. Billing team must update workflows to use alternative authorization validation methods until system issue is resolved.
