Summary
BCBSWY Availity users are experiencing membership errors when submitting prior authorizations for new members effective 1/1/2024. As a workaround, providers must fax prior auth requests directly to 307-432-2917 until the system issue is resolved.
Action Required
Immediately: When encountering Availity membership errors for new BCBSWY members effective 1/1/2024, billing team must fax prior authorization requests directly to 307-432-2917 instead of using Availity portal. For Digital Breast Tomosynthesis billing, only use CPT codes 77063 and G0279 as add-on services - codes 77061 and 77062 will be denied. Update billing system to flag these denied codes.
