Beginning January 1, 2026, BCBS North Dakota will prefer generic Lisdexamfetamine over brand name Vyvanse on their formularies. Current Vyvanse users can continue at formulary rates until March 31, 2026, after which brand name Vyvanse becomes non-preferred with higher costs.

By January 1, 2026: Billing team should inform providers that new Vyvanse prescriptions for BCBS North Dakota patients should be written for generic Lisdexamfetamine to avoid higher patient costs.
