Summary
Effective April 1, 2026, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Georgia will require submission of itemized bills for inpatient claims exceeding $50,000 and outpatient claims exceeding $20,000. Providers must register with the Medical Attachments application on Availity and upload itemized bills via the Availity Essentials Claims & Payments application when notified; claims will not process without required documentation.

Before April 1, 2026: Billing team must (1) register for the Medical Attachments application at https://Availity.com if not already enrolled; (2) ensure access to Availity Essentials Claims & Payments application; (3) establish workflow to monitor the Attachments Dashboard for notifications sent by 8 a.m. Eastern; (4) implement process to promptly upload itemized bills matching billed amounts within 24 hours of notification. Update billing staff on new thresholds ($50,000 inpatient, $20,000 outpatient) and notification procedures. Failure to submit required itemized bills will result in claims being marked ineligible for reimbursement and non-enrolled users receiving denial notifications.
