Policy Criteria Change-Material Amendment

Before September 15, 2026: Billing team must update system to flag claims for venous and arterial thrombosis risk testing (protein C, protein S, antithrombin III deficiency testing) for women age 50 or less who smoke with MI history as non-covered for Arkansas Blue Cross members. Providers should be notified to order alternative testing or seek different diagnostic approaches for this patient population. Claims for this specific indication will be denied after the effective date.
