Holiday Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Payment Schedule

Summary
Blue Cross VT has established a holiday Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) payment schedule to address timing adjustments when typical Friday payment dates fall on holidays. EFT payments normally process on Fridays for vouchers submitted on Wednesdays, but will be rescheduled to the following Monday when Friday holidays occur (July 3, December 25, and January 1). This change affects cash flow timing and requires billing teams to adjust payment reconciliation schedules accordingly.
Action Required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective immediately (July 1, 2026): Billing and accounting teams must update payment reconciliation schedules to reflect the holiday EFT payment schedule.
- For July 2026: Expect EFT payments on Monday, July 6, 2026 (instead of Friday, July 3) for Independence Day.
- For December 2026: Expect EFT payments on Monday, December 28, 2026 (instead of Friday, December 25) for Christmas Day.
- For January 2027: Expect EFT payments on Monday, January 4, 2027 (instead of Friday, January 1) for New Year's Day.
- Billing team must ensure all staff reconciling provider payments are aware of these date shifts to prevent incorrect payment status reporting or unnecessary follow-up inquiries.
- Update internal payment tracking calendars and cash flow projections to account for the one-business-day delay on these three holidays.
- Ensure EFT enrollment is completed by October 1, 2026, as paper checks will no longer be issued. Contact PayeeHub Customer Care at (877) 882-0384 or Provider Relations at (888) 449-0443, option 1 for enrollment assistance.
- Consequence: Failure to account for these schedule changes may result in incorrect cash reconciliation and delayed identification of payment discrepancies.
