Summary
The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has resumed the CMS Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) audit for Review Year 2021, which was previously halted due to COVID-19. Providers with selected claims from July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 must respond to medical record requests within 75 days or face recoupment of payments.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must verify and update provider enrollment information in the IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal at in.gov/medicaid/providers. When receiving PERM medical record requests (starting October 2020), submit complete documentation within 75 calendar days to avoid payment recoupment.
