Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs now allows attendant care providers to bill for services during medical transportation trips and appointments for Aged & Disabled (A&D) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) waiver members. Providers must add modifier UC to attendant care claims for medical transportation services.
Action Required
For dates of service on or after April 1, 2021: Billing team must add modifier UC to all S5125 attendant care claims when services are provided during medical transportation trips and appointments for A&D and TBI waiver members. Update billing system to include modifier combinations: U7+UA+UC for agency providers ($5.82 per 15 minutes) and U7+UC for nonagency providers ($4.05 per 15 minutes). Note that these services are exempt from electronic visit verification (EVV) requirements when billed with UC modifier.
