Summary
Indiana Medicaid expanded MRO (Medicaid Rehabilitation Option) services to allow reimbursement before treatment plan development and concurrent billing with residential SUD facilities. Additional provider types can now certify behavioral health diagnoses and approve care plans.
Action Required
Immediately: Community mental health centers can now bill H2014 for skills training services concurrent with H2034 for same member on same date when member is in 3.1 ASAM SUD residential facility. Update billing system to allow concurrent billing of these codes. Verify provider enrollment requirements - only CMHCs can bill H2014 under MRO, only 3.1 ASAM SUD residential facilities can bill H2034. Update credentialing to recognize APRNs, LCSWs, LMFTs, LMHCs, and LCACs as eligible to certify behavioral health diagnoses for MRO services.
