Summary
Indiana Medicaid (IHCP) is ending the COVID-19 waiver that allowed certain facility providers to render services in alternative locations. Effective June 6, 2022, nursing facilities, ICFs/IID, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, and hospital nursing facilities must provide services only in their licensed facilities to receive full reimbursement.
Action Required
By June 6, 2022: Billing team must ensure all claims for nursing facilities, ICFs/IID, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, and hospital nursing facilities reflect services provided only in licensed facility locations. Update place of service codes in billing system to match licensed facility addresses. Claims for services provided in alternative locations after this date will not be fully reimbursed.
