Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) updated billing guidelines for Notification of Pregnancy (NOP) forms for managed care members. Effective January 1, 2023, providers must use procedure code G9997 with modifier TH instead of the previous billing code, and submit NOP forms within 5 days of the office visit for pregnancies under 30 weeks gestation.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to use procedure code G9997 with modifier TH for all Notification of Pregnancy claims for Indiana Medicaid managed care members. Update billing software and encounter forms. Ensure NOP forms are submitted via IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal within 5 calendar days of office visit. For hospitals, add revenue code 940 to NOP claims. FQHCs and RHCs should temporarily submit NOP claims separately without encounter code T1015 until system changes are completed.
