Summary

Starting May 1, 2023, Indiana Medicaid (IHCP) requires new location modifiers for day habilitation and prevocational services billing. Providers must add UF modifier for facility-based services or UG modifier for community-based services, or claims will be denied.

By May 1, 2023: Billing team must update all T2015 (prevocational) and T2020 (day habilitation) claims to include location modifiers - use UF for facility-based services or UG for community-based services as the fourth modifier. Update billing software to require these modifiers. Claims without the new modifiers will be denied for dates of service on or after May 1, 2023.
