Summary
Effective July 1, 2023, Indiana Medicaid (IHCP) fee-for-service members needing non-emergency ALS and BLS ambulance transports will no longer be scheduled through the Verida broker. Instead, these services must be scheduled directly with ambulance providers and billed to Gainwell Technologies using specific procedure codes.
Action Required
For dates of service July 1, 2023 and after: Ambulance providers must schedule non-emergency ALS and BLS transports directly with patients, not through Verida broker. Bill claims using codes A0420, A0424, A0425, A0426, A0428 directly to Gainwell Technologies. Update scheduling workflows to bypass Verida for these specific transport types while continuing to use Verida for wheelchair van transports.
