Action Required

Action needed
For Indiana Medicaid psychiatric inpatient admissions on or after April 10, 2023: Stop submitting State Form 44697/OMPP 1261A for prior authorization. Instead, ensure the member's Plan of Care (POC) is submitted to the FFS PA contractor within 14 working days of admission. The POC must clearly demonstrate that ambulatory care doesn't meet treatment needs, inpatient services are required under physician direction, and services are expected to improve the patient's condition.
