Summary
Indiana nursing facilities participating in Medicaid must change their fiscal year reporting period to calendar year (January 1 - December 31) for Medicaid cost reporting purposes, with cost reports due by May 31st each year. This change affects rate-setting processes and requires dual reporting for some providers during the transition period.
Action Required
By May 31, 2024: Nursing facilities with non-calendar fiscal years must file calendar year 2023 (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2023) Medicaid cost reports to Myers and Stauffer. Going forward, all facilities must maintain calendar year fiscal periods for Medicaid cost reporting with annual reports due by May 31st. Contact Myers and Stauffer at LTCdept@mslc.com or 317-846-9521 for questions.
