Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) now covers school nursing services provided by both RNs and LPNs effective July 1, 2023. Previously, only RNs could provide these services. New billing codes 99600 with modifiers TD/TM for RN services ($15.95 per 15 minutes) and TE/TM for LPN services ($12.57 per 15 minutes) are now reimbursable.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing teams at school corporation providers must update billing systems to include CPT 99600 with modifier combinations TD-TM for RN services and TE-TM for LPN services. Ensure all school nursing claims use modifier TM (not TL or TR) and verify services are pursuant to approved IEP or Section 504 plans. Update fee schedules with new rates: $15.95 per 15 minutes for RN services, $12.57 per 15 minutes for LPN services.
