Summary
Indiana Medicaid has expanded coverage for Vaxneuvance (PCV15) pneumococcal vaccine to include pediatric patients 6 weeks and older, effective retroactively to June 17, 2022. Providers can now resubmit previously denied claims for this vaccine when administered to children.
Action Required
By February 5, 2024: Billing team should identify and resubmit any previously denied claims for CPT 90671 (Vaxneuvance vaccine) administered to pediatric patients 6 weeks and older with dates of service from June 17, 2022 forward. Include a copy of bulletin BT2023154 with resubmitted claims to satisfy timely filing requirements. Managed care claims must be resubmitted within 90 days of November 7, 2023, and fee-for-service claims within 180 days.
