Summary
IHCP identified a claim processing system issue that affected FFS claims with 2023 dates of service that were processed between Dec. 31, 2023 and Jan. 14, 2024, causing incorrect reimbursement rates. The system has been corrected and mass adjustments are being processed automatically.
Action Required
Within two weeks of Jan. 23, 2024: Billing team should monitor remittance advices for adjusted claims identified with ICNs/Claim IDs beginning with 52 (mass replacements). Verify that claims with 2023 dates of service processed between Dec. 31, 2023 and Jan. 14, 2024 receive proper adjustments. If adjustments are missing or incorrect, providers can edit claims through HIPAA-compliant 837P transactions or the IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal.
