Summary
Starting May 1, 2024, Indiana Medicaid fee-for-service will honor prior authorizations from previous coverage sources (including managed care) for up to 90 days or until the original authorization expires. Providers should promptly notify the PA-UM contractor of outstanding authorizations to ensure continuity of care during member transitions.
Action Required
By May 1, 2024: Billing team must establish process to notify IHCP FFS PA-UM contractor (phone: 866-725-9991, fax: 800-261-2774, or Atrezzo Provider Portal) of any outstanding prior authorizations when members transition from other coverage to Indiana Medicaid FFS. Always verify member eligibility before rendering services. Maintain documentation to substantiate previous authorizations.
