Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) made corrections to their October 1, 2024 ICD-10-CM code updates. Certain diagnosis codes were incorrectly added to the Emergency Department autopay list and are being removed, while new eating disorder diagnosis codes have been added as qualifying codes for the Behavioral and Primary Healthcare Coordination (BPHC) program.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to reflect that specified codes (G9345 and T45AX/T81 series codes) are no longer on the MCE Emergency Department autopay list retroactive to October 1, 2024. For providers treating patients with eating disorders, verify that the new F50 series diagnosis codes now qualify patients for BPHC services and update documentation accordingly. Contact Indiana Medicaid managed care plans to confirm autopay list changes have been implemented.
