Summary
Indiana Medicaid (IHCP) updated reimbursement rates for assistant surgeon services and multiple surgery procedures, effective retroactively to April 1, 2024 for fee-for-service claims. Claims will be automatically mass adjusted with new rates appearing on remittance advices starting March 12, 2025.

By January 29, 2025: Watch for mass adjusted claims on remittance advices starting March 12, 2025 with ICNs beginning with '52'. For retroactive claims submissions beyond standard filing limits, include first page of bulletin BT2024205 with claim. Update billing system to reflect new assistant surgeon rates: physicians at 16%, APRNs and PAs at 13.6%. Ensure proper modifier usage: 80/81/82 for physician assistants, AS for APRN/PA assistants, and 51 for multiple surgeries.
