Summary
Effective April 2026, preservice requests for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for commercial members must be initiated by calling customer service instead of submitting forms. A customer service representative will guide the intake process and a clinician will follow up for telephonic clinical review.
Action Required
Before April 1, 2026: Staff who handle ABA prior authorization requests must stop using forms and begin calling the customer service number on commercial members' ID cards to initiate preservice requests. Update workflow procedures to include checking eligibility through Availity Essentials first, then calling for telephonic intake process. Train staff on new phone-based request process.
