Immediately: Stop billing code S8189 (NOC tracheostomy supplies) as it is no longer covered as of 05/06/2024. Update claim denial protocols to reflect S8189 non-coverage status. Train billing staff on modifier AU requirements and retrain on revised supply quantity limits listed in the policy table. Update denial templates to reference the specific quantity maximums per code per month (e.g., A4450 and A4452 limited to 40 units per month). Ensure all submitted claims for A4450, A4452, and A5120 include proper AU modifier documentation or claims will be denied by Independence Blue Cross Medicare Advantage.
