(2) Reprocess or correct any claims submitted between 01/01/2026 and 04/06/2026 that were denied or rejected for these codes—they are now eligible for reimbursement. (3) Update encounter templates and provider documentation guidelines to reflect that 90849 is now covered under standard telehealth (not as an additional service). (4) Audit existing claim denials from 01/01/2026 forward for these five codes and appeal where applicable. (5) Train billing and coding staff on the expanded code list and clarified non-reimbursable services (triage, administrative tasks, medical history intake). Failure to reprocess retroactive claims may result in lost revenue for the practice.
