Summary
Starting November 1, 2024, EviCore will manage precertification for molecular laboratory testing CPT codes for Cigna Healthcare customers. Labs must obtain precertification before rendering services, and genetic counseling is no longer required prior to genetic testing precertification.
Action Required
By November 1, 2024: Labs and ordering providers must obtain precertification through EviCore (EviCore.com portal or 866.668.9250) before performing molecular laboratory tests for Cigna Healthcare customers. Attend EviCore orientation sessions in October/November to understand the new process. Failure to obtain precertification will result in claim denials.
