Summary
Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth are temporarily waiving prior authorization requirements and providing enhanced coverage accommodations for providers and patients in Los Angeles and Ventura counties affected by the Southern California wildfires from January 7 through at least March 19, 2025.
Action Required
Immediately through March 19, 2025: Billing team should process claims for Los Angeles and Ventura county patients without obtaining prior authorizations for any level of care. Bill out-of-network urgent/emergency care as in-network rates. For non-emergent out-of-network care, request network exception approval by calling member ID card number. Process pharmacy claims without usual R71, R73, R79, R75, and R76 rejections through April 7, 2025. Monitor policy updates as accommodations may be extended.
