Summary
Effective July 1, 2026, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma refined their claims editing and review process for office, inpatient, and outpatient evaluation and management (E/M) services for commercial members. Three mandatory webinars are being offered in October 2026 to train providers on these coding and claims submission changes. Providers must review the updated Reimbursement Policy 024 (RP024) to understand the new E/M coding requirements.
Action Required
By October 2, 2026 (at latest): Billing team and providers must attend one of three mandatory webinars to learn the refined claims editing and review process for E/M services. Register for one session: Oct 15 (1-2:30 PM), Oct 23 (10:30 AM-noon), or Oct 27 (1-2:30 PM). After training, review and implement changes outlined in updated RP024 policy before July 1, 2026 effective date. Update billing system workflows, EMR templates, and provider coding guidelines to align with new E/M editing rules. Failure to comply may result in claim denials or delays for office, inpatient, and outpatient E/M services submitted to BCBS OK commercial plans.
