Summary
MassHealth will now reimburse acute inpatient hospitals for Hospital at Home (HaH) services provided to MassHealth members in their homes, effective immediately for CMS-authorized hospitals. Hospitals must use specific billing codes (Occurrence Span Code 82 and Revenue Code 0161) and notify MassHealth 30 days before billing for these services.
Action Required
At least 30 days before billing MassHealth for Hospital at Home services: Hospitals participating in CMS AHCAH program must email AcuteHospitalRFA@mass.gov with CMS approval documentation and anticipated start date. Billing team must update claims processing to include Occurrence Span Code 82 and Revenue Code 0161 for all Hospital at Home services on facility claims.
