Summary
The Gainwell Technologies MMIS system will be completely unavailable for scheduled maintenance from September 25-28, 2026. During this outage, all Medicaid claims submission, prior authorization requests, eligibility verification, and portal access will be offline. The Eligibility system (CARES) will remain available. Billing teams must plan ahead and avoid submitting claims during this window.
Action Required
By September 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. CT (9:00 p.m. CT for pharmacy): Billing team must halt all Medicaid claims submission, prior authorization requests via provider web portal, and eligibility verification attempts through the MMIS system. Front desk and verification staff should use alternative methods (phone, fax, or CARES system) if needed during the outage. Batch process any pending Medicaid claims before the outage window begins. Resume normal operations after receiving the provider ALERT confirming system availability on or after Monday, September 28, 2026 at 6:00 a.m. CT. For urgent issues, contact EMC Helpdesk at (800) 456-1242 Saturday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (with limited access) or Provider Assistance Center at (800) 688-7989. Failure to plan ahead may result in delayed claims processing and patient service disruptions.
