Summary
Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has waived CY 2026 REALD (Race, Ethnicity, Ancestry, Language, Disability) and SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) data collection requirements for all Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) effective immediately. CCOs must pause all collection and submission of this demographic data and notify downstream contractors. Data sharing resumes once OHA completes its operational review.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing and operations team must pause all collection and submission of REALD and SOGI demographic data in billing systems and encounter forms. Contact all downstream contractors (medical groups, vendors, clearinghouses, practice management software providers) who receive demographic data submissions from your organization and notify them of the pause. Remove any automated validation rules or edit checks requiring REALD/SOGI data from billing workflows. Do NOT delete historical data already collected.
