Summary
NC Medicaid is changing its internal audit notification process from direct provider contact to the QiRePort Provider Interface. Providers selected for quarterly audits will receive notifications on the Referrals/Notifications for Review screen and must have administrative users formally acknowledge receipt within the system. All audit documentation continues to be submitted directly to NCDHHS, except for NC Medicaid 3085 and 3136 forms which may be uploaded to QiRePort.
Action Required
By September 14, 2026: (1) Billing and administrative staff must ensure they have active QiRePort Provider Interface access and administrative rights to acknowledge audit notifications; (2) Designate at least one user with administrative credentials to monitor the Referrals/Notifications for Review screen in QiRePort for quarterly audit selections; (3) Train administrative staff on the new acknowledgment process and audit documentation submission procedures; (4) Establish a process to track audit notifications and acknowledgments within QiRePort to prevent missed deadlines; (5) Confirm that audit documentation submission procedures to NCDHHS remain unchanged except for NC Medicaid 3085 and 3136 forms.
