Summary
Virginia Medicaid updated the Temporary Detention Orders (TDO) Supplement to clarify when Community Service Boards can bill for prescreening assessments, added a required attestation form for TDO emergency custody services, and removed duplicative language. All providers must maintain current enrollment, contact information, and license details in the PRSS portal to avoid claim denials—MCOs and DMAS are prohibited from paying claims to providers not enrolled in PRSS.
Action Required
By August 27, 2026: (1) All mental health and ARTS providers must verify and update their enrollment status, contact information, and license information in the PRSS (Provider Services Solution) portal at https://vamedicaid.dmas.virginia.gov/ to ensure current records for all service locations. Verify enrollment with Gainwell Technologies at 804-270-5105 (in-state) or 888-829-5373 (out-of-state toll-free), or email VAMedicaidProviderEnrollment@gainwelltechnologies.com. (2) Community Service Boards providing TDO emergency prescreening assessments must obtain and use the new attestation form when submitting claims to the TDO Program for reimbursement. Contact Acentra Health for the attestation form and submission requirements at 1-804-622-8900. (3) Billing teams must ensure all provider records in billing software reflect current PRSS enrollment status. Failure to maintain current PRSS enrollment will result in claim denials for FFS and MCO reimbursement. This applies to all network providers; dental providers continue to enroll through DentaQuest.
