Summary
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana has released Provider Performance Insights (PEAQ) reports for eligible providers, with updated measurement methodology for 2026. The Efficiency component now uses Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association data, measuring primary care providers on total fee-for-service costs and specialists on episode-based costs. 2026 report results will influence online directory search results and provider profiles starting in 2027.
Action Required
By September 2026: Eligible providers in PEAQ specialties must access their Provider Performance Insights reports through Availity® Essentials (Payer Spaces section, Applications tab, select PEAQ Report) to review performance metrics and cost comparisons against peers. Billing and provider teams should understand that 2026 report results will directly impact 2027 online directory search rankings and provider profile summaries. If your practice does not have an Availity account, register at no cost immediately. Failure to review reports may result in inaccurate directory listings and reduced patient visibility in 2027. Contact PEAQ Inquiries or your provider representative with questions about report access or interpretation.
