Make the Switch to Highmark-EDI for Electronic Claims by Sept. 30
Highmark·NY·Provider Bulletin
Effective date

We identified it

Summary
Highmark is requiring all New York providers to transition from the ASK (Administrative Services of Kansas) clearinghouse to Highmark-EDI for electronic claim submissions (837s) by September 30, 2026. This is a mandatory system change affecting how claims are submitted electronically, with the added benefit of enabling batch claim attachments to be submitted electronically instead of mailed or faxed.
Action Required
By September 30, 2026: IT department or trading partner must contact Highmark's EDI Trading Partner Business Center to request connectivity to Highmark-EDI and request a new Highmark Western and Northeastern New York Trading Partner account. Immediately: Contact EDI Operations at 800-992-0246 (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET) for questions or technical guidance. Billing team must verify that all electronic claim submission (837) processes are configured to route through Highmark-EDI rather than ASK clearinghouse before the deadline. Update any internal documentation or billing system references that reference ASK clearinghouse. Failure to transition will disrupt claim submission and processing after September 30, 2026.
