Summary

Beginning January 1, 2027, prenatal care coordination (PNCC) providers serving Medicaid members in Milwaukee County must contract directly with Wisconsin Medicaid HMOs and Partnership MCOs for reimbursement instead of billing ForwardHealth fee-for-service. Additionally, memoranda of understanding (MOU) requirements for PNCC providers have been eliminated statewide.

Action Required

Before Jan 1, 2027
By January 1, 2027: PNCC providers serving Milwaukee County Medicaid members must: 1) Enroll with Wisconsin Medicaid as a PNCC provider, 2) Contract and credential with each Wisconsin Medicaid HMO and Partnership MCO individually (process can take several months), 3) Update billing workflows to submit claims to member's HMO/MCO instead of ForwardHealth fee-for-service. Contact HMOs/MCOs immediately to begin contracting process. Claims without proper HMO/MCO contracts will not be reimbursed after the effective date.
