Summary
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is transitioning nonemergency medical transportation services for Medicaid members from Modivcare to MTM Health, effective October 1, 2026. Billing teams should be aware that eligible patients will need to contact MTM Health directly to request transportation services; recurring and pre-scheduled trips will automatically transfer to the new provider with no action required from patients.
Action Required
Before October 1, 2026: Front desk and patient communication staff should be prepared to inform Medicaid patients about the transportation provider change. Update any internal documentation or patient materials that reference Modivcare to reflect MTM Health as the new provider. No billing code or claims processing changes are required, as nonemergency medical transportation is a member benefit managed directly by the health plan, not billed by the practice.
