Ambetter Health Billing Code Update for CPT Codes 80320-80377 Effective 10/01/2026

By September 30, 2026: Billing team must complete the following: (1) Audit current billing patterns to identify all claims using CPT codes 80320-80377 for Ambetter Health patients; (2) Update billing software to block submission of CPT codes 80320-80377 to Ambetter Health effective October 1, 2026; (3) Identify the appropriate G-series bundled laboratory codes that replace each discontinued code and update billing templates and encounter forms; (4) Notify all laboratory and clinical staff that drug testing procedures must be billed using G-series codes for Ambetter plans; (5) Establish internal communication protocol to redirect any staff attempting to bill the old codes. Failure to transition will result in claim denials and revenue loss for all drug testing procedures billed to Ambetter Health after October 1, 2026.
