Reminder: Radiation oncology and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals to be managed through the Oncology Value Management program, starting Sept. 1

By August 31, 2026: Billing team must update all billing software and workflows to route radiation oncology claims (including proton beam therapy) and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical claims through OncoHealth for prior authorization. Update claim submission processes to direct these services to the Oncology Value Management program rather than standard authorization channels. Providers and billing staff should review the expanded program FAQ and attend available webinars (Sept 3 or Sept 9, 2026) to understand new submission requirements. For claims with dates of service before September 1, 2026, submit retroactive prior authorization requests using instructions on the Oncology Services page at authorizations.bcbsm.com. Failure to route claims through the correct program will result in claim denials and payment delays.
