Summary
L.A. Care Health Plan has launched an enhanced Provider Portal with self-registration capability for contracted solo practitioners (Type 1 NPI providers). The portal provides 24/7 access to service authorization requests, member eligibility verification, claims status, and remittance information. Providers affiliated with PPGs, IPAs, or delegated organizations must work with their portal administrator instead of self-registering.

By September 30, 2026: Billing and administrative staff should identify which L.A. Care contracted providers are eligible to self-register (solo practitioners with Type 1 NPIs not affiliated with PPGs or IPAs). Eligible providers must self-register for the enhanced Provider Portal at https://lacare.my.site.com/LACProviders/s/ using their Pay-to NPI, Pay-to TIN, and Vendor ID from their most recent Remittance Advice. Have available the Provider Portal Registration Reference Guide (page 26 for contracted practitioners) and FAQs. Non-eligible providers affiliated with delegated organizations should contact their organization's portal administrator. All staff should bookmark the Provider Portal Hub and submission form for future inquiries. Update internal workflow documentation to direct staff to use the portal for SAR submission, eligibility verification, and claims status checks rather than phone inquiries. If registration issues occur, submit a Provider Portal Inquiry Form or contact your L.A. Care Account Manager; allow up to 5 business days for response. For non-portal issues, use Provider Solution Center at 1-866-LACARE6 (866-522-2736).
